Savitri Temple

Savitri temple is situated on the Ratnagiri hills at Pushkar. This temple as the name suggests is dedicated to Hindu godess, Savitri who was the first wife of Lord Brahma.
It is very popular with the tourists and devotees alike. It also has an interesting legend attached with it. Lord brahma was about to do some yagna in Pushkar in which his wifes presence was must. But savitri kept him waiting so he got angry and married gayatri to start the yagna. When savitri came to know about this, she cursed brahma ji and said he would not be worshipped anywhere else, but only in Pushkar. To pacify her lord brahma granted her a wish that she would always be worshipped before Gayatri.
To reach the temple, devotees have to climb lots of steps.
